A jewel that quietly celebrates connection.

This 1980s deadstock brooch features two elegantly sculpted hearts intertwined in a timeless symbol of affection, unity and companionship. Rendered in rich gold-tone metal, the design captures the warmth and sentiment that made heart motifs particularly beloved in jewellery throughout the late twentieth century.

The two hearts gently overlap, creating a graceful composition that feels both romantic and balanced. Fine engraved texturing along the edges lends depth and dimension, allowing the brooch to catch light softly as it moves.

Preserved in deadstock condition, the piece has remained unworn since the 1980s — a pristine example of vintage costume jewellery from the era.

Elegant and symbolic, this brooch is as meaningful as it is decorative.

Design Description

The brooch is composed of two open-frame hearts, delicately intertwined to form a harmonious sculptural motif.

Each heart is outlined with a textured gold border, where fine linear engraving creates a subtle play of light across the surface. The openwork design keeps the piece visually light while maintaining a bold silhouette.

The overlapping placement gives the brooch its distinctive character, suggesting the meeting of two forms — a motif long associated with themes of love, friendship and enduring bonds.

The reverse reveals a classic rollover clasp, ensuring secure and comfortable wear.

At 6 cm in width, the brooch has a pleasing presence while remaining versatile enough for everyday styling.

For collectors of romantic jewellery, symbolic brooches or 1980s costume design, this piece represents a beautifully preserved example of vintage elegance.

Provenance

These earrings come from a remarkable discovery — deadstock from a historic London jewellery warehouse that closed its doors in the late 1980s. Decades later, the warehouse was rediscovered and reopened, revealing untouched vintage inventory preserved exactly as it was when the business ceased operations.

Today, this archive supplies rare pieces to film and production houses such as Bridgerton, Joan, and other major costume productions, alongside a select circle of vintage dealers.

To encounter such pieces in unworn condition after more than four decades is exceptionally rare.
