A radiant relic of unapologetic glamour.
From the house of Frank Usher, celebrated for its dramatic evening wear and statement costume jewellery adored across Britain, comes this exceptional pair of 1980s sunburst danglers — a design that captures the era’s confidence, colour and joie de vivre.
Crafted in luminous gold tone metal, each earring is composed of three graduating sun motifs, cascading gracefully with vivid enamel centres in coral orange, sunshine yellow and ruby red. The movement is exquisite — every step catching the light as though little suns were suspended in motion.
What makes this pair especially rare: deadstock condition — never pre-owned, new old stock, preserved beautifully since the 1980s. A true collector’s delight.

A Dream of Wearing Them
Imagine a warm seaside evening somewhere along the Amalfi coast. Salt air in the breeze, a flowing ivory maxi dress skimming the cobblestones, sun-kissed shoulders, hair loosely gathered. These earrings move beside you like golden light itself. They do not merely accessorise — they create atmosphere.
Or picture them at sunset in Goa with bronzed skin, linen, sandals in hand, and a silk scarf catching the wind.
Styling Notes
- Pair with a flowing white, cream or sand-toned dress for a cinematic holiday look.
- Wear with a sleek black column gown to let the colour sing at dinner.
- Add to a simple crisp shirt and tailored trousers for an editorial daytime statement.
- Best worn with hair swept back or loosely tied to allow their full drama to be seen.
- No necklace required — these are the entire conversation.
About Frank Usher

Provenance
These earrings come from a remarkable discovery — deadstock from a historic London jewellery warehouse that closed its doors in the late 1980s. Decades later, the warehouse was rediscovered and reopened, revealing untouched vintage inventory preserved exactly as it was when the business ceased operations.
Today, this archive supplies rare pieces to film and production houses such as Bridgerton, Joan, and other major costume productions, alongside a select circle of vintage dealers.
To encounter such pieces in unworn condition after more than four decades is exceptionally rare.
