Some treasures are not found… they are rediscovered.

This exquisite 1980s deadstock necklace-and-earrings set is one of the rarest archival miracles of British costume jewellery. Crafted for premium high-street and designer houses of England in the late 70s and 80s, these pieces were never released to the world. When the London workshop closed abruptly, thousands of beautifully crafted jewels disappeared into darkness—untouched, unhandled, unworn—for more than 45 years.

Until the pandemic changed everything.

A London-based jeweller uncovered the forgotten warehouse during COVID and acquired the entire archive, bringing back to light a treasure trove of handcrafted British costume jewellery—pieces that had been suspended in time, waiting for their second destiny.

Today, these rediscovered jewels are coveted by UK and Hollywood costume designers, seen on major productions including Bridgerton and the 2024 ITV drama Joan, where Sophie Turner was spotted wearing pieces from the very same warehouse collection.

And now, one of those miracles has found its way to the London Vintage vault.

The Piece

The necklace is a stunning 60 cm cascade of geometric diamond-shaped links, meticulously connected to create movement, rhythm, and a liquid-gold drape. At each side rests an ornate enamelled panel—deep oxblood tones framed in gold—evoking old-world craftsmanship and regal motifs reminiscent of ancient civilisations.

The earrings, elongated and sculptural at 8 cm, echo the same palette and architectural symmetry. They sway with effortless grace, catching light with every turn of the head. The rich gold tone feels cinematic; the enamel detailing feels aristocratic; the silhouette feels timeless.

This is not jewellery.
This is an artefact of a forgotten atelier—resurrected for the woman who understands legacy.

Why Collectors Prize This Set

  • Deadstock from a sealed 1980s London warehouse—brand new, untouched for over 45 years.

  • Direct lineage to TV & film productions including Bridgerton and Joan (2024).

  • Exceptional craftsmanship: geometric articulation, enamel detailing, sculptural movement.

  • A true heirloom find, unavailable in any modern market.

  • A chance to own a piece of British costume jewellery history few even know existed.

This is the kind of set that becomes a conversation wherever you go—quietly powerful, culturally rich, impossible to imitate.

Styling Notes

To honour its heritage:

  • Wear the necklace over a solid black or ivory silk blouse, allowing the golden geometry to take centre stage.

  • For evening, pair with a deep wine, emerald, or midnight blue off-shoulder gown.

  • Opt for a sleek low bun or soft side-swept waves to showcase the 8 cm earrings.

  • Keep all other jewellery minimal—this set commands the entire stage.

  • Tone your makeup towards warm golds, berry lips, or soft metallic eyes for a regal finish.

Whether worn as a complete set or styled separately, each piece carries an undeniable cinematic majesty.
