A breathtaking example of Renaissance Revival Baroque design, these Frank Usher dangling earrings embody the opulence, drama, and ornamental mastery that defined the house’s most collectible creations of the 1980s.

Crafted in richly gilt metal, the design unfolds in a lavish vertical silhouette—ornate, architectural, and exquisitely balanced. Intricate Baroque scrollwork and pierced filigree form a lace-like gold framework, set with vivid turquoise cabochons and delicate seed pearls that punctuate the composition like jewels in a royal reliquary. The colour contrast—ceremonial gold against luminous blue—evokes European court jewellery of the 17th century, reimagined through a bold 1980s lens.

Measuring an impressive 7 cm in height and 2.5 cm in width, the earrings are unapologetically statement-making, yet remarkably refined. Despite their scale, the pierced construction and thoughtful engineering ensure elegant movement and comfortable wear.

What elevates this pair into true collector territory is its extraordinary provenance and condition.
These earrings are 45 years old, yet in absolute new conditionnever pre-owned, never worn, preserved exactly as they were when first made. They originate from a long-shut London warehouse, closed in the late 1980s and re-discovered in 2020 by a London-based jeweller, who carefully reopened the archive to a select circle of vintage dealers and film & production houses. Jewellery from this very cache has gone on to feature in major period productions—including globally celebrated series such as Bridgerton—a testament to the archive’s historical and aesthetic significance.

This is not revival. This is authentic, time-capsule vintage—a rare opportunity to own a deadstock Frank Usher masterpiece, untouched by time, rich in story, and impossible to replicate today.

Styling Tips

  • Best styled with clean, uninterrupted necklines: off-shoulder blouses, bateau necks, or deep square cuts to allow the earrings to command attention.

  • Pair beautifully with ivory silks, antique whites, velvets, brocades, or jewel-toned fabrics—emerald, sapphire, oxblood, or midnight blue.

  • Let these earrings stand alone: no necklace required. A simple gold cuff or vintage cocktail ring is more than enough.

  • Ideal for evenings, gallery openings, heritage weddings, opera nights, or destination soirées—they photograph exceptionally well and move with cinematic grace.

  • Hair styling recommendation: sleek low buns, soft chignons, or gently pulled-back waves to frame the face while showcasing the ornate drop.

A piece for the true collector, the costume-jewellery connoisseur, or the woman who understands that some jewels are not merely worn—they are inherited from history.
