A striking 1980s gold-plated brooch pendant, crafted in richly textured gold-tone metal, designed as a dynamic swirl of ribbon-like strands. Each strand catches light differently — some smooth, some rope-textured — creating a sense of movement, almost like a golden flourish frozen mid-motion.

It isn’t just jewellery.
It’s presence.

And what makes it truly exceptional:
it transitions effortlessly from brooch to pendant — a rare versatility that elevates it from accessory to styling tool.

  • Sculptural 3D form — not flat, but dimensional and alive
  • Layered textures — rope and polished finishes interplaying beautifully
  • Statement scale — bold enough to anchor an entire look
  • Convertible design — wear it your way, depending on mood and moment

This is the kind of piece the 1980s did best — where jewellery wasn’t an afterthought, it led the outfit.

Styling it (the real magic)

As a Pendant

  • Pair with a black silk shirt or structured blazer — let it sit mid-chest as your focal point
  • Works beautifully on a long chain over a sari blouse or deep neckline for Indo-Western styling
  • Layer over turtlenecks in winter — instant old-money drama

As a Brooch

  • Pin it on a blazer lapel for that sharp, editorial power look
  • Add it to a saree pallu or silk dupatta — elevates traditional wear instantly
  • Style on a belt, clutch, or even in the hair (for editorial shoots)

 The feeling it evokes

At a dinner, someone will notice.
They always do.

Not because it’s loud —
but because nothing quite like this is made anymore.

Provenance

These earrings come from a remarkable discovery — deadstock from a historic London jewellery warehouse that closed its doors in the late 1980s. Decades later, the warehouse was rediscovered and reopened, revealing untouched vintage inventory preserved exactly as it was when the business ceased operations.

Today, this archive supplies rare pieces to film and production houses such as Bridgerton, Joan, and other major costume productions, alongside a select circle of vintage dealers.

To encounter such pieces in unworn condition after more than four decades is exceptionally rare.
