Hilda Collectors Piece Stunning Large Coins Chunky Bracelet

Bold, historic and unmistakably dramatic — this 1980s imperial coin charm bracelet captures the powerful aesthetic of vintage statement jewellery from the late twentieth century.

Suspended from a rich gold-tone curb chain are four striking large medallion coins, each framed within intricately textured rope borders. The coins feature detailed relief portraits of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, one of Europe’s most fascinating historical monarchs, alongside the heraldic imperial double-headed eagle on the reverse.

The design evokes the grandeur of historic European coinage, transforming these regal motifs into a wearable statement piece that carries both presence and narrative.

Large, sculptural and unapologetically bold — this bracelet reflects the unmistakable glamour and confidence of 1980s statement jewellery.

Detailed relief portraits of King Ludwig II of Bavaria
Imperial double-headed eagle crest on the reverse side of the coins
Textured rope-style coin frames adding dimension and richness

The movement of the dangling coin charms gives the bracelet a beautiful sense of fluidity when worn.

Historical Inspiration

King Ludwig II of Bavaria (1845–1886), often referred to as the “Fairy Tale King,” was one of Europe’s most intriguing monarchs, famed for commissioning extraordinary architectural masterpieces including Neuschwanstein Castle.

Coins bearing his likeness became iconic pieces of Bavarian imperial currency, and jewellery inspired by such historic coinage became highly fashionable in the twentieth century.

Vintage coin jewellery gained particular popularity in the 1970s and 1980s, when bold, historical motifs and statement-scale pieces defined fashion jewellery design.

Condition

This bracelet is offered in deadstock condition, meaning it has remained unworn since the time of its original manufacture.

The gold tone remains vibrant, the coin relief details are crisp, and the chain retains its original strength and structure.

Deadstock pieces from this era are increasingly rare and especially desirable to collectors.

Collector’s Value

Vintage coin charm bracelets from the 1980s have become increasingly sought after due to their bold aesthetic and historical inspiration.

This particular example is especially collectible due to:

Large-scale coin medallion design
• Distinctive European imperial imagery
• Excellent deadstock preservation
• Classic 1980s statement jewellery styling

A powerful piece of vintage jewellery — both sculptural and storied — perfect for collectors who appreciate jewellery with historical character and dramatic presence.

Provenance

These earrings come from a remarkable discovery — deadstock from a historic London jewellery warehouse that closed its doors in the late 1980s. Decades later, the warehouse was rediscovered and reopened, revealing untouched vintage inventory preserved exactly as it was when the business ceased operations.

Today, this archive supplies rare pieces to film and production houses such as Bridgerton, Joan, and other major costume productions, alongside a select circle of vintage dealers.

To encounter such pieces in unworn condition after more than four decades is exceptionally rare.
