Europe, c. 1980s | Deadstock Vintage Costume Jewellery
Gold-plated metal with faux pearl cabochon studs
Vintage, never worn | Pierced earrings
There is something irresistibly charming about a heart motif when it is done with restraint.
These delightful 1980s heart earrings pair luminous pearl cabochon studs with beautifully sculpted open-heart drops, creating a design that feels romantic without ever becoming overly sentimental. The gently textured gold-plated frames add depth and refinement, while the openwork silhouette keeps the earrings wonderfully light and easy to wear.
Unlike many statement earrings from the decade, these possess a remarkable versatility. They are feminine and playful enough for everyday wear, yet elegant enough to accompany life's sweeter occasions - a lunch date, a garden party, an anniversary dinner, or simply an afternoon when one feels inclined to dress beautifully for oneself.
What makes them particularly special is their provenance. These earrings are authentic deadstock from the 1980s, preserved untouched for over four decades. Having never been previously owned or worn, they remain in exceptional vintage condition - a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of fashion history exactly as it would have appeared in a boutique during the era.

Styling Notes
For everyday wear, these pair effortlessly with a crisp white shirt, cashmere knit, silk blouse, or simple T-shirt and tailored trousers. The heart motif lends just enough personality without overwhelming an outfit.
For romantic occasions, allow them to take centre stage with a soft slip dress, an off-shoulder blouse, or a beautifully cut black dress. The combination of pearl and gold flatters virtually every skin tone and brings warmth and softness to the face.
They are equally lovely for bridal events, engagement celebrations, Valentine's dinners, afternoon teas, and summer holidays, offering a touch of vintage romance without feeling costume-like.
Why We Love Them
These are the sort of earrings one reaches for repeatedly. They are easy, flattering, and quietly joyful. A reminder that vintage need not always be dramatic; sometimes its greatest luxury lies in its ability to bring charm and character to the everyday.
A rare survivor from the 1980s, preserved for more than four decades and waiting for its very first owner.
Provenance
These earrings come from a remarkable discovery - deadstock from a historic London jewellery warehouse that closed its doors in the late 1980s. Decades later, the warehouse was rediscovered and reopened, revealing untouched vintage inventory preserved exactly as it was when the business ceased operations.
Today, this archive supplies rare pieces to film and production houses such as Bridgerton, Joan, and other major costume productions, alongside a select circle of vintage dealers.
To encounter such pieces in unworn condition after more than four decades is exceptionally rare.
