An entrance begins with the turn of a head.

Sourced in London, these extraordinary 1940s clip-on earrings descend almost twelve centimetres in a lavish cascade of white beads, iridescent facets and warm gold-tone detailing. Sculptural, flower-like clusters sit at the ear, giving way to long, articulated strands that stir with every movement. Their proportions are magnificent; their pale palette brings an unexpected delicacy to all that theatre.

Light catches between the beads in fleeting shades of champagne, rose and green. Against the skin, the effect is luminous, framing the face and drawing the eye along the neck. These are earrings around which an entire evening’s dressing can be composed.

Their Bakelite construction lends a surprising lightness to their considerable scale, while the closely assembled clusters and linked drops give them a sturdy, substantial feel. There is confidence in the workmanship and extravagance in the silhouette - a compelling expression of vintage glamour.

Wear them with black silk, an open neckline and hair swept away from the face. Pair them with an ivory sari for a beautifully tonal occasion, or let them transform a sharply tailored dinner jacket. Leave the neckline bare and allow their length, light and movement to command attention.

For the collector, their appeal reaches beyond appearance. A silhouette can be copied; the decades an original has travelled cannot. These earrings bring the presence of an earlier era into your own wardrobe, to be worn, remembered and eventually passed on. The pleasure lies in making that history part of your own.
